Joe Paterno, the legend who got screwed.

So for those of you who aren't sport fans, have probably heard about the molestation charges and the scandal that accompanied it at Penn State University. In the midst of this scandal, a man who did what he was supposed to has been fired, why you ask, because he didn't do the right thing. Let's see, when he received reports about the alleged situations, he went to his superiors and informed them of what he had been told and they left the situation be, not joe Paterno, his superiors did. How asinine do you have to be to fire a man for doing what protocol tells him to do. I'm sorry for the rant but I just feel that man who has been a legend ever since I was child is being ousted and blamed for something he tried to correct. Place yourself in his shoes, would you be able to go before your superiors and tell them something so vile had happened?

My iPhone will never work quite right again.

So for any of you who missed out on the news, Steve Jobs left us yesterday. Last night, some friends and I were sitting around talking about and one of them said, why should I care that another millionaire died. I at first was mildly offended. So I said to him, do u like your playstion 3, or your android based phone. His immediate reply was duh. I said thank thy dead millionaire, cause if it wasn't for him most of the phones and gaming devices we use everyday are because of the many discovers and inventions of steve jobs. So just think what would be the world be like if steve jobs would have said apple's a bad idea it will never work. Well one things for sure, this iPhone I'm typing on probably wouldn't be here.

hand holding- its not just for hippies.

Well hello there interwebs, I havent blogged in quite a few days, more like months but who is really counting. Anyways so of course the reason I decide to is that I had a thought and I want you to know it so here it goes:

Me being the great pacifist/humanitarian  of the 21st century that I am, I was thinking about how people show affection, I thought of the more serious ways sex, public groping, bromances, kissing, grabbing/slapping of the buttocks, etc. Then I thought to my self, self there are alot of ways to show some you care. So self said back to me, what is before all these other things that you see people do that sparks the constant back forth of affection sharing.... a simple touch. For me I was more thinking of how it works in a relationship and 9 out of 10 times, the affection rituals begin with simple hand holding. Now by now this sounds like a spastic shot gun blast of a thought... but stick with me and ill make a point eventually.  For those of you that are romantically involved think of the first time you and your significant other went on a date, watch a movie awkwardly on your parents couch... what was the first thing you did to show that person that u liked them, besides make a stupid comment on how nicely their shoes were tied, you more then likely held hands with them, and I bet the birds sang and the sun shined down upon the moment and all was right with the world, correct? Why is that? It is simple, holding hands gives a sense of stability, trust, caring, fellowship. We feel like nothing is the matter, as long as that person never lets go. Think of all the different situations happy and sad that you see people holding hands, when some passes on, we hold hands to let those who are struggling most that with out saying a word we are there. When we are in pain, we hold someones hand to let them no that they will be ok, when we are date/married to someone we hold hand not only to show affection, but to tell others that you and that person have a bond unlike any other in your life, you hold hands when you pray to feel a sense of reverence and community.

So hear is my point, Next time you hold hands with someone , think of what you are really saying to them and cherish that person, for they ultimately feel the same way for you.

day after yesterday...

or today if you will. Today was seriously out of my comfort zone on so many levels. We went to west haven, which is a place for mentally handicapped adults. We get there and immediately the people there start hugging you and just loving you UNCONDITIONALLY, it was so humbling. anyrate i had to help lead songs which i cant really sing so that pushed me out there, but none of them really cared they were just excited to sing songs. Followed by feeding time, that literally made me feel minuscule, having to feed someone b/c they couldnt physically do it... OMG talk about walking away changed... Thank you God for the ability to be a 'whole' person. But i will say this i learned more today about selflessness and compassion then i ever have probably in my entire life... epic mind blowing day.

i dont even know what day it is.

Well here we are on day something or another in jamaica... I mean i cant really tell you how long ive been here with out thinking and that is well more then i wanna do right now lol. Anyways, today was alot of fun, we built some super sketchy, i cant emphasize sketch enough, scaffolding out of small trees and 4ft pieces of 1x4. We only finished round about the first eighth of it and im pretty sure i would never stand on it. Then from there due to scheduling mishaps we had a little down time, then went to a small neighborhood and did athletic camps, they were more like mass games of basketball, frisbee and crafts lol... all in all a good day.

Jamaica!

So im here in jamaica, the past few days have been jawesome. The first day we went to an infirmary(hospital for disabled patience) then to an actual hospital. Then today we went to orphanages and omg the kids were so desperate for just simple love, it truly broke my heart. I am so blessed to have a family who has always been there for me and has always loved me. At the first orphanage, we went to we met a lot of the younger children and babies and played with them for what seemed like hours and hours, I met two little boys personally named Sanjay and Christopher. They just wanted to be held and played with... they ran me ragged lol. Then the second orphanage we went to we played dodgeball, with a lot of the kids, it was so much fun... i mean come on who doesnt love a good game of dodgeball. Then we quit playing and began doing handstands with them... seeing jimmy goddard attempt to do a one armed hand stand is a sight that i practically indescribable, but if u know him u can just only imagine. Well that is all for know
